"We knew the world would not be the same. Some people laughed. Some people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered a line from Hindu scripture, Bhagavad Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'I am become death. The destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all felt that one way or another."
~Robert Oppenheimer

I am not shure if that is how the real quote goes. I have never heard the real quote, I have only heard a portion of the speech from the Linkin Park song on the album "A Thousand Suns", in the song "The Radiance"

This is an entry for the 100 Themes Challenge.

One of the most powerful speeches ever delivered, I saw the video of Oppenheimer giving this speech and all I saw in the expression of his eyes were shock, shame, and guilt.

Simply awesome!
However, the image is that of Shiva,(one of the Hindu Trinity), in Nataraja form and the verse Oppenheimer was quoting during the first atomic test is actually from Rig Veda. I find it amazing that you chose the verse in an art form, (Nataraja is the lord of dance-an art form) and a verse on describing destruction- Shiva is the god of destruction (Vishnu is preserver)! In mythology, Shiva destroys the world by dancing, so he does becomes death. This verse and the dancing posture are not connected but somehow you have made something which connects the two :)

Beautiful quote~ and lovely typography;

One thing though, xD because I've read through the Bhagavad Gita, it's not Shri Vishnu but Shri Khrishna. [[Though it doesn't really matter what the name is since all Hindu deities are simply different manifestations of the same essence. ^^]]

Either way the silhouette made was instantly recognizable to me, the texture of the background helps the tone of the quote, and this really made my day~ OuO/

Just to let you know, I don't know any scripture besides a bit of the bible. This was a quotation from a song that quoted a physicist that quoted scripture so I wasn't really sure whether it would be clear or correct.

Thanks for the comment and praise! You made my day too. ;)
